commissioning

  • 1. Initial meeting

After an initial meeting either here at the workshop and - or where the furniture is to go, Hugo will produce sketches and estimates based on the customers requests and budget.

There is usually no charge at this stage, unless there is an excessive amount of time and travelling required, in which case this will be agreed upon first.

  • 2. Scale drawings and quote

If the sketches and estimates have been agreed upon, Hugo will prepare scale drawings and a quote. If the customers decides not to go ahead, a charge will be made for the design work, up to 10% of the quote. If the customer agrees to the design and quote, one third of the price will be required with the placing of the order.

  • 3. Making

On receipt of the order, the timber is selected and cut out, then brought into the workshop for further drying. Hugo welcomes visits to the workshop at any stage during the production of a piece to show how it is made and what goes into it. The final payment is required on delivery.

Ian A C Dejardin, Director, Dulwich Picture Gallery

“The cherry wood table-lectern has been widely admired, it is a thing of beauty, is surprisingly light and will be the proverbial joy forever.”

Peter Sarginson, Principal, West Dean College

“Everyone at West Dean is delighted with the beautiful screen that you supplied for our dining room”. The form and surface are magnificent.”
